“ This was a great find. A gem of a restaurant. Exceptional Southern home cooking type food. I was there on a Monday and this is what was on the menu - fried chicken, smothered hamburger steak, chicken & dressing, spaghetti pie, baked fish, green beans, macaroni & cheese, broccoli & cheese, noodles & tomatoes, fried okra, turnip greens, purple hull peas, mashed potatoes & gravy, roll, cornbread, jalapeno cornbread, all kinds of cake, and peach cobbler, plus burgers, sandwiches, & salads. Simply amazing. The service was great. Servers were on top of it. The atmosphere was that of a local Mom & Pop restaurant. There were a lot of customers at 3 & 4 PM, which says a lot about a restaurant. Great food. Great experience. I will be back. ”

This was the best steak I've had in a long time . Everyone was so nice .They even have special on two steaks dinners on Friday's. I will definitely be back. ”
“ This is the small town family Restaurant then everybody loves to visit. We go out of our way to visit the White House Restaurant because it offers the ability to order from the menu or go through the serving line and they will serve you a meat and three vegetables or two vegetables whichever you prefer and the good home cooking it's about as good as you could ever get. It tastes like I've Revisited Grandma's house with the best lima beans, Brussels sprouts, salmon patties and hamburger steaks just among the few great items they serve along with huge handmade burgers. Great food and great service definitely five stars. ”

“ We are officially in the era where a sit down restaurant is cheaper than fast food. I had an extra large bacon cheeseburger with onion rings and my ticket was less than 13.00. The burger was massive, the onion rings were hand cut and breaded and also huge. Our waitress was amazing and stayed on top of everything like a pro. All in all, this restaurant is a 10/10 will visit again. ”
“ 5 stars — because I have never fought so hard for peace in my mouth I’ve eaten a lot of country cooking in my day—been baptized in gravy, raised on cornbread, and emotionally restructured by a good biscuit. But White House Restaurant in Alabama? That’s not just food. That’s a war for your soul, and I went in unarmed. The moment I walked in, I knew I was entering a battlefield. Lace curtains. Booths built like pews. Someone’s meemaw was in the corner shelling peas like she was counting down to judgment day. I ordered the chicken fried steak, and when it hit the table, the air got thick. A man three tables down started saluting. A baby cried. My fork bent under the weight of divine flavor. First bite in and my ancestors showed up like: “We fought a war for this. The good war. The one with mashed potatoes.” The collard greens? Braised in what I can only assume was the tears of Union and Confederate soldiers reconciling over hot sauce. Mac and cheese so rich I had to file a joint tax return with it. Gravy that could end generational trauma if poured directly on the heart. At one point, an elderly man wearing suspenders looked up from his meatloaf, locked eyes with me, and said, “Son, flavor like this doesn’t come without casualties.” Then he passed out in slow motion and whispered, “Tell Linda I forgive her.” I still don’t know who Linda is, but I hope she’s doing okay. By dessert (banana pudding with a Nilla wafer crown), I was humming Dixie and clutching the table like it was a musket. It wasn’t food anymore—it was a reckoning. The staff served each plate like a ceasefire agreement between hunger and satisfaction. Would I go back? You don’t “go back” to White House. You return to the battlefield, eyes open, fork ready, prayer in your heart. ”
